What are we going to do together?

Tenuta Monacelle

Your teacher
Ciao, I’m Lisa and I’m an Italian teacher but my vision is way beyond just learning a new language. I want to share with my students the passion of connecting with new cultures and opening doors to extraordinary experiences. I’m Italian and I have been a language teacher for over 5 years. I graduated from “Cultural and language liaison” and I am a certified language teacher. I have taught in many different countries and in 2021 I founded TheItalianLizard Language School. Lisa-Lizard, it started as a play on words, but… I love to explore new cultures, learn new languages and blend in with new surroundings… like Lizards!
Our adventure begins in Bari, a city full of history and tradition. From here, a private transfer will take us to Tenuta Monacelle, a special place surrounded by nature, with traditional trulli and a beautiful cherry orchard!
After checking in, we’ll meet for an Apulian aperitivo with prosecco and friselle, a typical local snack.
The evening continues with a wonderful dinner — the perfect way to relax and get ready for a week full of discoveries!

Good morning, students! It’s time for a nice breakfast and a cup of coffee, because at 9:00 a.m. we’ll meet for a great Italian class. We’re going to have a great time!
A unique activity awaits us in the afternoon: a cooking class on Apulian cuisine! We’ll learn how to prepare traditional dishes like orecchiette, cavatelli, strascinati, and taralli. Amazing!

Buongiorno! Today we can sleep a little longer because our day starts at 11:30 a.m., when we will leave for a beautiful trip.
Our first stop will be Cisternino, where we’ll attend a special show: the preparation of mozzarella. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a light lunch with a selection of typical products such as fresh mozzarella, ricotta, burratina, and other local delicacies.
In the afternoon, we’ll travel to Martina Franca, famous for its Baroque architecture and traditions. We’ll visit an olive mill to discover the secrets of olive oil production and take part in a tasting. Then, we’ll take a walk through the city center, among alleys and squares that seem to have come out of another era.
The day will end with dinner at a typical restaurant in Martina Franca. After dinner, we’ll return to the hotel to rest, ready for the next days’ adventures!

Good morning! How are you doing? See you at 9:00 a.m. for another beautiful Italian lesson, with Lisa. We have some amazing activities planned for today!
The rest of the day is completely free, so you can do whatever you like: a nice walk, a glass of wine, or a chat with your fellow travelers.
We’ll end the day at dinner, the perfect moment to share our experiences so far.

Buongiorno, students! Ready for another beautiful day trip? Our first stop will be Locorotondo, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, famous for its white alleys and flowering terraces.
We’ll then continue to Monopoli for lunch and a stroll through the old town, passing ancient churches, quaint little squares, and the charming harbor.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit Polignano a Mare, a true gem on the Adriatic Sea, known for its cliffs and breathtaking views. Here, you can take memorable photos and enjoy a bit of shopping!
Then we’ll head back to the hotel to have dinner and sleep! It’s been a long day!

Buongiorno! At 9:00 a.m., our last Italian class begins. Today, we’ll enjoy even more wonderful activities together.
After class, take advantage of a free afternoon at the venue — because the evening will be truly unforgettable.
At 6:00 p.m., we’ll join a special Apulian market organized on site. We’ll discover local traditions, artifacts, and ancient peasant customs, all accompanied by music and traditional dances from the region.
We’ll end the evening with an aperitivo and a typical Apulian dinner, featuring authentic dishes and local wine.

After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to the beautiful Tenuta Monacelle and get ready for our return. After checking out, a transfer will take us to Bari, where our journey will come to an end.
Although it’s time to leave, we’ll carry with us the memories of a special week — a trip that will stay in all our hearts.
Arrivederci, Puglia, and see you soon for a new adventure together!

We will arrange a group transfer from Bari to Tenuta Monacelle on the first day of the trip, and another from Tenuta Monacelle back to Bari on the last day. This is the easiest and most convenient way to reach the venue. More detailed information will be shared in the coming months.
Tenuta Monacelle features an old village with original trulli dating back to the 1700s. Trulli are conical stone structures typical of the Puglia region. They tend to be cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Since these are original, historic buildings, they do not have air conditioning, however trulli are equipped with a fan to stay cool. All trulli maintain their original furnishings and include a bathroom with a toilet, bidet, sink, and shower. Staying in a trullo will offer you a truly authentic pugliese experience!
If you are traveling alone but have booked a double room, we will assign you a roommate of the same gender. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people who share your passion for Italy and the Italian language.
Yes, absolutely! During the booking process, you will be able to purchase two tickets together to share a room with your partner. Please note: Since this is a study trip, both participants must be studying Italian and share a passion for Italy.

As our participants come from all over the world, the requirements for entering Italy may vary depending on your country of origin. It is your responsibility to verify whether you only need a passport or if you also require a visa or other documents to enter Italy.
You will be traveling with others who, like you, share a passion for Italy and are studying Italian. A few weeks prior to the trip, we will give you access to a WhatsApp group where you can start connecting with your fellow travelers and get to know them better.
If you encounter any issues before the trip, simply send an email to info@linguatravel.com, and we will be happy to assist you.
