Lisa

Ciao, I’m Lisa and I’m an Italian teacher but my vision is way beyond just learning a new language. I want to share with my students the passion of connecting with new cultures and opening doors to extraordinary experiences. I’m Italian and I have been a language teacher for over 5 years. I graduated from “Cultural and language liaison” and I am a certified language teacher. I have taught in many different countries and in 2021 I founded TheItalianLizard Language School. Lisa-Lizard, it started as a play on words, but… I love to explore new cultures, learn new languages and blend in with new surroundings… like Lizards!

Here we are in Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance and one of the most beautiful cities in the world — what a fantastic way to start our trip!
We’ll meet near Santa Maria Novella Station to board our private bus and head straight to the villa. The ride takes about an hour.
Once we arrive, we’ll check in and have some time to relax after the long journey. In the evening, we’ll gather for a welcome dinner to enjoy some delicious Tuscan cuisine, get to know each other, and raise a toast to this amazing adventure!

Good morning, students! Let’s kick off the day with a lovely breakfast. Don’t forget to grab a good cup of coffee — we’ve got an Italian class with Lisa that will keep us busy all morning!

In the afternoon, we’ll stay right here at Borgo di Cortefreda for a special tasting of local wine, olive oil and honey. Can you believe it? We’ll get to sample some of Tuscany’s most delicious products, and the staff will walk us through the process, helping us understand the fascinating art of olive oil making.

After that, it’s time to unwind. Want to take a nap in your room? Go for a peaceful walk through the hills? The choice is yours! We’ll all meet again later at the restaurant to enjoy our second dinner together.

Wake up, students! The bus has just arrived to take us to Volterra, a charming hilltop town in Tuscany located about 500 meters above sea level. Volterra is known for its Etruscan and medieval art, and especially for alabaster, a fine, luminous stone that has been expertly crafted here for centuries. Our local guide will bring the town’s fascinating history to life — you’ll feel like you’ve stepped straight into the Middle Ages!

After a quick lunch, we’ll head to an art workshop to explore the tradition of painting on wood using natural colors. The artist will walk us through the process, and then you’ll have the chance to create your own piece — a unique and meaningful souvenir to take home!

Later, we’ll return to the hotel to relax a bit before dinner together. After such a full day, we’ll definitely have plenty to talk about!

Buongiorno, students! Are you ready for a traditional Tuscan cooking class with a real chef? Today, we’ll roll up our sleeves and learn how to prepare authentic Tuscan dishes — an experience to remember (and recreate at home)!

I bet you’ll be hungry after class, so we’ll all sit down together to enjoy the delicious meal we’ve prepared with our own hands. Buon appetito!

After a bit of rest, we’ll meet again in the classroom for our second Italian lesson. Lisa has lots of fun activities planned… but we won’t spoil the surprise!

When class is over, you’ll have some free time to relax or explore, and then, as always, we’ll gather for dinner to end the day together.

Chicchirichì! The rooster is crowing — it’s time to wake up and get ready to explore one of the most beautiful regions in Italy: Chianti, famous for its picture-postcard landscapes, with rolling hills, vineyards, and olive groves.

Today we’ll visit three charming villages, each one a hidden gem far from the usual tourist paths: Greve in Chianti, Castellina in Chianti, and the magical Monteriggioni, a medieval walled town that looks like it’s straight out of a fairytale.

After a wonderful day in the Chianti countryside, we’ll return to the villa to relax a bit and then enjoy dinner together. See you tomorrow for another unforgettable adventure!

Good morning, students! Today is our last Italian class — and I’m already feeling a little sad. But don’t worry, we still have lots of fun activities planned, and we’re going to make the most of every moment!

After class, you’ll have free time in the afternoon. You can enjoy a light lunch at the restaurant, go for a peaceful walk, or simply relax in your room — the choice is yours.

And now, as the sun sets over the Tuscan hills, it’s time for our farewell dinner. It will be an unforgettable experience: great wine, authentic Tuscan cuisine, and plenty of laughter and conversation among friends.

Good morning! Our journey comes to an end today. We’re a little sad it’s over, but incredibly grateful that it happened. This week has been special, and we’ll always carry this beautiful experience in our hearts.

It’s time for one last breakfast overlooking the Tuscan hills, and then we’ll take our private bus back to Florence train station, where we’ll say our goodbyes — for now.

But who knows? We hope to see each other again soon, on another unforgettable adventure with your favorite teachers!

You can pay the deposit by credit card (400€ for a single room and 300€ for a double room). The remaining balance will be divided into two installments, which can be paid by credit card. More details about the payment schedule will be provided once the trip is confirmed.

You can pay the deposit starting on Saturday, June 14. Once you have paid the deposit and the trip is confirmed, you will be required to pay the remaining balance in two installments. The two installments are divided as follows:
– For a single room, the first installment of €2,069 is due by January 16, 2026, and the second installment of €1,380 is due by March 16, 2026.
– For a double room, the first installment of €1,469 is due by January 16, 2026, and the second installment of €980 is due by March 16, 2026.

No, the trip is not automatically confirmed upon payment of the deposit. The trip will be confirmed only once the minimum number of participants has been reached. You will receive an official confirmation email at that time, and only then should you proceed with booking your flights to Italy.

The deposit is non-refundable. However, if the trip is canceled by the organizers or is not confirmed as the minimum number of participants is not reached, we will refund 100% of the deposit. For this reason, we strongly recommend waiting for our confirmation email before booking your flights. Please note that the deposit amount is 300€ per person for a double room and 400€ for a single room.

Please send an email to info@linguatravel.com, and we will guide you through the cancellation process in accordance with our partner agency’s cancellation policies. The deposit and any installments already paid are non-refundable. For example, if you have paid the deposit and the first installment but cancel before paying the second, you will not be required to pay the remaining installment, but you will not be refunded the amounts already paid. For this reason, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance in your home country.

If the trip is canceled by the organization, a full refund will be issued.

No, travel and medical insurance are not included in the cost of the trip. However, we strongly recommend that you purchase suitable coverage before departure.

Transportation during the trip is included in the package. However, transportation to and from the accommodation is not included. A transfer from Santa Maria Novella Station in Florence (the city’s central train station) to Borgo di Cortefreda will be available for an additional fee. More details about this service will be provided a few months before departure.

We will arrange a group transfer from Florence to Borgo di Cortefreda on the first day of the trip, and another from Borgo di Cortefreda back to Florence on the last day. This is the easiest and most convenient way to reach the venue. More detailed information will be shared in the coming months.

If you are traveling alone but have booked a double room, we will assign you a roommate of the same gender. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people who share your passion for Italy and the Italian language.

Yes, absolutely! During the booking process, you will be able to purchase two tickets together to share a room with your partner. Please note: Since this is a study trip, both participants must be studying Italian and share a passion for Italy.

Absolutely! Before the trip, we will send you a form to fill out, where you can indicate any dietary preferences, restrictions or allergies. We will make sure that the facility is informed and can accommodate your needs.

No, but participants must be at least 18 years old!

Unfortunately, refunds are not available for specific activities that you choose not to participate in.

As our participants come from all over the world, the requirements for entering Italy may vary depending on your country of origin. It is your responsibility to verify whether you only need a passport or if you also require a visa or other documents to enter Italy.

You will be traveling with others who, like you, share a passion for Italy and are studying Italian. A few weeks prior to the trip, we will give you access to a WhatsApp group where you can start connecting with your fellow travelers and get to know them better.

If you encounter any issues before the trip, simply send an email to info@linguatravel.com, and we will be happy to assist you.
